Quando si crea uno storyboard per film, è indispensabile che le immagini riflettano lo script. Il movimento è centrale per queste immagini: i movimenti dei personaggi e gli oggetti all'interno della scena, così come il movimento della telecamera che lo osserva. Invece di scagliare la casella di descrizione con dettagli noiosi di ogni azione, lasciare che l'immagine comunichi il moto di una scena. Le frecce sono un modo semplice e riconoscibile per mostrare movimento o progressione.
