Activity Overview

To create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment, it is so important to make space for students to feel seen and heard. An "All About Me" activity is a popular way for students to share information with the class about themselves and their families, their likes, interests and hobbies in an effort to find commonalities and celebrate differences.

This activity combines students' love of social media with an All About Me activity by using the StoryboardThat creator to make a poster that looks like a social media page. Students can choose a fun handle, write a simple bio at the top and create up to 9 different scenes that describe their life and their different interests.

Students can think about the following questions as they create their scenes:

  • Who are the people and pets in your family?
  • What is your favorite sport?
  • Do you play an instrument or participate in an after-school activity?
  • What is your favorite hobby?
  • What is your favorite book?
  • Where is your favorite place to visit?
  • What is your favorite show, movie, or musical group?
  • What is your favorite activity to do with friends?
  • What is your favorite school subject?
