Dans cette activité, les élèves identifieront les composantes structurelles du poème , y compris les strophes et les lignes. Les élèves détermineront également le schéma de la rime dans chaque strophe en étiquetant les lignes avec les lettres de l'alphabet. Plus important encore, les élèves vont analyser et décrire l'idée principale de la strophe.
L'exemple fourni est pour la première strophe.
- Lignes: 4

- Signification: Le narrateur regarde comme l'oiseau divise un ver en deux et le mange.
