Activity Overview
There are so many interesting people in the world, and there is so much to learn about them. Besides the regular information that kids research, it is fun for them to learn random things about a person that not everyone may know! These can help bring their person to life, and students might find things they can relate to. For this activity, students will create a 3-4 cell storyboard highlighting fun facts about the person they have studied. This activity makes a great first step in a larger biography project.

How To Incorporate Storyboards into a Biography Lesson
Model Fact-Finding For Your Students
Students may initially be confused about exactly what a fun fact is. Work together to model finding fun facts, so they can then do it on their own.
Practice Creating Titles
Students may need scaffolding to help create titles. Choosing the right word for the job comes quite easily to some but is much harder for others. Practice makes progress!
Create a Summary
Once students find the key random facts, assist them with their summaries. They should write them in their own words, and change the order from the original.
Draw it Out
A good storyboard tells the story in pictures, and this is a fun step for students. Assist them in drawing the fun fact to further develop their storyboard.
