Ruch jest centralny dla tych obrazów: ruchów postaci i przedmiotów na scenie, a także ruchu kamery obserwującej ją. Zamiast zataczać pudełko z żmudnymi detalami każdego działania, niech obraz przekazuje ruch sceny. Strzałki są prostym i rozpoznawalnym sposobem na pokazanie ruchu lub progresji.
