Activity Overview
In this activity, students will complete a character map where they depict and describe the Alice in Wonderland characters, paying close attention to the characteristics and traits of both major and minor characters. Students should provide detailed information regarding how the characters interact with each other, as well as challenges each face.
Characters included in the character map are:
- Alice
- White Rabbit
- Mouse
- Caterpillar
- Cheshire Cat
- Hatter
- March Hare
- Queen of Hearts
- King of Hearts
- Alice's Sister

Student Instructions
Create a character map for the major characters.
Objective: Make an Alice in Wonderland characters list with pictures.
- Identify the major characters in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and type their names into the different title boxes.
- Choose a character to represent each of the literary characters.
- Select colors and a pose appropriate to story and character traits.
- Choose a scene or background that makes sense for the character.
- Fill in the text boxes for Physical/Character Traits, How Does This Character Change over Time, and What Challenges does this Character Face.
- Be sure you have a complete list of Alice in Wonderland characters names and photos before you save and exit!
