  • FALLING ACTION
  • A she-wolf found the crying babies and fed them with her own milk. A woodpecker brought them food to eat. A shepherd discovered them and brought the two infants home to his wife. They raised them as simple shepherds, naming them Romulus and Remus.
  • RESOLUTION
  • Remus was imprisoned after an argument with the king's shepherds. Romulus gathered others to help rescue his brother. Amulius was killed and Romulus and Remus discovered their true identities.
  • Their supporters wished to crown them as joint kings, but they reinstated their grandfather, Numitor.
  • Instead, two brothers decided to found a new city along the Tiber River, near where the she-wolf had found them. This city would later become the great city of Rome.
