  • When Felix flees from the orphanage, he has the ultimate hope that he will find his parents. As he learns the truth about what is happening, his hope begins to deminish.
  • When Felix goes out to find aspirin for Zelda, he holds out hope that he will find some for her. He does, and he also finds a carrot that he takes with him.
  • THEME: Hope
  • When Felix and Zelda decide to jump out of the moving train car, they have hope that they will not be shot and will be able to escape into the woods.
