- The capital of Pennsylvania is Harrisburg. Some other major cities include Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Allentown, Erie, and Scranton.

- Pennsylvania's nickname is the Keystone State. Its motto is, "Virtue, Liberty, and Independence." Pennsylvania got its name from William Penn, an English Quaker who is known as the founder of the colony.

- Independence National Historical Park is a very popular Philadelphia tourist attraction. It is one of America's most historic areas, as it is home to the Liberty Bell, and Independence Hall where the Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776.

- Pennsylvania's state tree is the Eastern Hemlock. Its state flower is the Mountain Laurel and its state bird is the Ruffed Grouse.
