Storyboard Description

The setting of a story is the all important time and place. The story of Amal Unbound is set in modern day times in the Pujab Province of Pakistan. The story takes place in Amal's village primarily at her family's home and also on Jawad Sahib's estate. Students can use a setting map to illustrate the different settings in the book and write a short description of each place in the description box.

  • Amal Unbound by Aisha Saeed is a book set in modern day in the Punjab Province of Pakistan. Pakistan is north west of India, east of Iran and Afghanistan, and south west of China.
  • Amal's family live in a house in a small village in Pakistan. Her father owns a sugarcane farm.
  • Amal is sent to live in Jawad Sahib's estate as an indentured servant. It is a massive, luxurious house with many servants.
