A public service announcement, commonly known as PSA, is a message spread in the interest of the public. The objectives of PSAs are to raise awareness and change public opinions, or even behavior towards an issue. These messages can be instructional, inspirational, or even shocking to elicit emotion and action.
The COVID-19 pandemic has deeply affected our lives. The activities in this lesson plan gives teachers a starting point for discussing and learning more about the Covid 19 pandemic, the public and government response, what we can learn from the past, and the safety measures we should all employ.
Making a Public Service Announcement is an engaging way for students to combine research, writing and graphic design to create a flier or poster that will be helpful for their school or community. In this assignment, students will create a PSA to help others remember their crucial part in slowing the spread of the deadly virus, Covid-19.
