These activities will take you and students through the process of creating storyboards that serve two purposes: to get students familiar with the program, and to get to know your new students and discover their goals, aspirations, likes and dislikes in a fun, visual medium.

Storyboard Description

Students can get to know the StoryboardThat Creator with an interactive scavenger hunt! Students will be able to explore each category of art: scenes, characters, textables, etc.

Storyboard Text

  • FIND A TOWN SCENE AND DRAG IT INTO THE CELL BELOW:
  • FIND A HOME (INDOOR) SCENE AND DRAG IT BELOW:
  • FIND A HOME (OUTDOOR) SCENE AND DRAG IT BELOW:
  • FIND A CHARACTER (KID) AND DRAG THEM INTO THE SCENE:
  • FIND A SCHOOL SCENE AND DRAG IT BELOW:
  • Welcome to the first day of school everyone!
  • Using Edit Scene , change the time of day and weather of the scene.
  • FIND A SCENE UNDER SPORTS AND DRAG IT BELOW:
  • Using Edit Scene , change at least two features of the scene (colors, make something disappear, etc.)
  • FIND A SCENE UNDER HISTORICAL AND DRAG IT BELOW:
  • Using Edit Scene , make at least two changes.Then, copy the scene using the Copy Button in the Editing Box. Drag it to the next cell.
  • FIND A SCENE UNDER OUTDOOR AND DRAG IT BELOW:
  • Using Edit Pose , change your characters colors, pose and expression.
  • FIND A SCENE UNDER MYTHICAL FUTURISTIC AND DRAG IT BELOW:
  • Using Edit Scene make at least two changes.Then, add three characters and change their colors, poses, and expressions.Finally, add a Textable speech bubble and type a short greeting for one of your characters.
  • FIND A SCENE UNDER PATTERNS AND DRAG IT BELOW:
  • Under Characters and Sports find at least three characters to add to the scene and change their colors, poses, and expressions.At the end of the category, there are sports items, add at least one to the scene.
  • Under Characters in one of the historical categories (1900s, 1600s-1800s, Medieval, Classical Era), find and add at least two characters that make sense in your scene. Change their colors, poses, and expressions.
  • Add at least 1 person and at least 3 animals. Animals are the last category in Characters . Change their colors, poses, and expressions. Resize your characters and make the ones in the foreground larger than ones in the background.
  • Under Characters: Add at least three from Monsters Myths, Mythology, or Medieval that fits with your scene. Change their colors, poses and expressions. Using Search on the far right, find at least one item for a character to hold.
  • Add at least one item from Shapes , at least one item from Infographics , and at least one item from Web Wireframes to make a fun design.
