- EXPOSITION
- I need you to take Zlateh to the butcher. She is not producing enough milk.
- CONFLICT
- RISING ACTION
- Reuven tells Aaron to bring Zlateh to the butcher so the family will have enough money for Hanukkah.
- TURNING POINT
- The family is devastated to lose Zlateh; they cry and say goodbye to her.
- FALLING ACTION
- On the way to the village, a massive snowstorm hits and Aaron loses his way.
- RESOLUTION
- Aaron finds shelter in a haystack. He survives the terrible storm because of Zlateh.
- Aaron is so grateful to Zlateh for ensuring his survival that he vows not to sell her.
- On the fourth day, Aaron makes his way back home; his family is delighted about their return. They are so grateful he is alive, they never consider taking Zlateh to the butcher shop again.
