- Modern jet liners burn fossil fuels to provide thrust, like jet fuel, that release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere
- Deforestation is where areas are cleared of trees. This means there are fewer trees to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere through photosynthesis.

- Gas is a fossil fuel derived from crude oil. It is burned inside a car's engine to produce carbon dioxide.
