- Northeast recreation depends on the season. In the winter, residents have many ski resorts to choose from. The summer brings many tourists to the beaches, and hiking is a fun activity year round.
- Shellfish is a very popular food in the Northeast. Maine lobster and lobster rolls are unique to the region.
- Many years ago, Ellis Island brought a diverse population to the Northeast many years ago, creating a "salad bowl" of cultures to the region.
