Social emotional learning (SEL) is crucial for the overall development of students. Check out some ideas for social emotional learning activities and worksheets that can be used in the classroom:
- Self Awareness:A feelings chart is an excellent way to help children identify and discuss various emotions. This activity will encourage students to share times when they felt each emotion.
- Self-Management: Use a goal setting chart to encourage students to set achievable short-term goals. Discuss with them the steps they can take to reach these goals.
- Social Awareness: Create an empathy map and have students reflect on a recent situation from another person's perspective. Discuss how understanding different perspectives can lead to better relationships.
- Relationship Skills: Conflict resolution worksheet: provide scenarios and ask students to suggest positive ways to resolve conflicts. Role-play different conflict resolution strategies.
- Responsible Decision-Making: Use a choices and consequences worksheet to present scenarios and ask students to identify potential choices and their consequences. Discuss how making responsible decisions contributes to personal well-being.
